Beautiful Finland was the host for the 9th work group meeting during the ongoing K2-projekt Towards a Common and Transparent European Learning and Working Framework through ECVET and EQAVET. This time there were several important goals.
The Members’ Congress and 4th General Assembly of the “European network for professional education in floristry - FLORNET”, held in November 2014 at l’ École des Fleuristes de Paris, was a successful meeting.
Tuesday the 17th and Wednesday the 18th of June 2014 the third meeting of the “European Platform for Education and Industry for Floristry” (FLORNET-FLORINT) took place, this time at the Slovenian Šola za hortikulturo in vizualne umetnosti Celje (School for Horticulture and visual Arts Celje).
The third general assembly of the “European network for professional education in floristry - FLORNET” was a successful meeting. During the two days conference the board of FLORNET informed the participants about the development of the International Associate and International Bachelor education in Floristry.

After a lot of preparatory work, the taskforce of the European Platform Education-Industry in Floristry submitted an application to the Leonardo da Vinci fund for subvention for a follow-up project to the ‘Certifying Assessors and Judges in Floristry’ project.
Tuesday, June 18th and Thursday June 20th the Summer Exhibition 2013 will take place at de Groene Welle in Zwolle. Under the heading "Feast for the eyes!" different VET students of the department Dynamic Floral Design will display their craft, demonstrate the current trends in flower arrangements and show possibilities that floral objects can have for businesses.
An international vocational programme with a focus on plant materials and its aesthetic and technical possibilities.
The programme targets all types of artisans, designers, interior designers, florists, artists, and aestheticians who want more knowledge of plant materials, and the use thereof.
When the Leonardo da Vinci partnership started two years ago on its mission of the development and implementation of an education and certification system for assessors at a proof of ability in colleges and judges in competitions of floristry design, we knew that the level of ambition was quit high. At the end of this project it may be concluded that the mission was successful.
For several years now the FLORNET website has been used to inform members, associated partners and the community, especially those who are interested in floristry and education about FLORNET and its activities.
On Tuesday September 4th 2012 the annual festival Floral Movement took place, this time at the Floriade in Venlo. On the programme were, inter alia, the final of the Dutch championship for juniors 2012 (Silver Tulip trophy) and the final of the Bouquets contest 2012.
From 12 till 15 of June to be precise, the second plenary meeting took place of the project officially called the European Master in Floral Design. Much was discussed and some important issues were tackled, as been described in detail below.
After two years of intense preparatory meetings and 5 successive pilots in 5 different countries the last and conclusive meeting of the Judges Certification project took place on 5, 6 and 7 June in Birmingham (UK). It took 3 demanding meeting days, with intensive but constructive discussions and resulted in a successful rounding off of the project.
During the last days of June, the decisions as to the grants given by the European Leonardo da Vinci fund with respect to the ‘call 2011’ were made public. The request for a partnership grant regarding the development of a new European Master in Floral Design was accepted!
It is a year ago now, that the Judges Certification Project was granted by the European Leonardo da Vinci fund. For many months now, the group of people from the 8 partners in the JudgCert Project has been working on the development of an approach for assessing candidates who want to obtain the certificate of “assessor at practical exams” and / or “certified professional judge in floral design”.
