FLORNET

FLORNET is a network of almost 30 partner institutions divided all over Europe. These partners co-operate in the field of floristry in order to improve knowledge circulation within the branch of floristry, to strengthen the relation education - industry in floristry and to increase the social status of the branch. By co-operating together, education in floristry in Europe becomes transparent. Together they support the harmonization of training systems which increases education and training in floristry FLORNET promotes the mobility of students and apprentices and the exchanges of teachers and VET trainers / instructors in the flower shop. To achieve these goals, FLORNET co-operates with institutions, entities and stakeholders at different level.

FLORNET is co-operating on a strategic level with FLORINT (the international branch origination for florists) in order, among others to establish a European platform of education and industry and to develop the international education European Master in Floral Design.

FLORNET is founded in May 2000 by 5 colleges. Soon it developed into a continuously growing association of institutions (colleges and companies) of floristry, landscape architecture and horticulture. All these institutions are dealing with nature and design.
In April 2009 representatives of 9 colleges / companies within FLORNET established the FLORNET-EEIG (European Economic Interest Grouping)
In March 2010 the other colleges / companies within FLORNET will become a member of the EEIG.

FLORNET established centres of excellence in the area of floristry in order to introduce new developments in the branch of floristry in Europe.
Within these competence centres 9 international training modules are offered by FLORNET. During other seminars and workshops new concepts in floristry are emerged, too.

In dialogue, the newly gained knowledge can lead to innovations and thus provide the daily floristic work with new approaches. Through this cross-border exchange of information and knowledge, the development of floristry should be influenced in a profound and positive way.
